Your Course

How will I be taught?

To successfully complete this qualification, students must have a minimum of 80% attendance and commit to self-directed study when preparing for assignments. This part-time course is taught across 35 weeks and is not consecutive as college holidays are taken as indicated on the college website.

Our classes are mostly face-to face, however, there may be the occasional need for classes to be taught on-line and to complete remote self- study when necessary. You will, therefore, need technology that can support the use of Microsoft Teams.

What modules are covered?

The course consists of four modules:

  •  Marketing Impact
  • Planning Integrated Campaigns
  • Search Engine Optimisation
  • Social Media Marketing

Marketing Impact

Marketing shapes perceptions, drives demand, and fosters connections, pivotal for businesses to thrive in competitive markets and engage their audiences effectively. In this module, you will learn about the role of marketing in the organisation and the key concepts that underpin the activities of the marketer. You will explore the marketing environment, customer behaviour in the digital age, market research and the marketing planning process. This will include the marketing mix and a tactical planning framework to aid marketing effectiveness.

Planning Integrated Campaigns

In the rapidly changing landscape of marketing, it is important for marketers to understand how marketing campaigns support organisations to interact with their customers. In this module you will gain an understanding of how content plays a crucial role in the customer lifecycle and how audiences interact with both digital and traditional media channels. Candidates will understand how to create integrated marketing campaigns across various channels, online and offline, and how to measure their effectiveness.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

SEO supports businesses to increase their online visibility, attract relevant audiences, and enhance their digital presence, ultimately leading to improved brand awareness, website traffic, and conversions. This module focuses on the importance of search engine marketing for organisations as part of their digital marketing activities. You will learn the key success factors for Search Engine Optimisation as well as understand effective paid search campaigns to achieve marketing goals.

Social Media Marketing

This module provides the knowledge and skills to develop and implement successful social media marketing activities to promote products, services, or brands, engage with audiences, and drive desired actions. Its importance lies in its ability to reach a vast audience, foster brand awareness and build relationships with customers, making it an essential tool for marketers. Candidates will learn how to apply a range of social media channels and produce suitable content to enhance an organisation’s digital activities.

All modules are taught on a part-time basis across 35 weeks to give you time to focus on your responsibilities outside of your studies.

How will I be assessed?

All modules are examined via an online examination comprising multiple-choice questions.
