Our college community is deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty the Queen today.
Principal CEO Virginia Barrett said, “Today is a day of great sadness as we receive the news of Her Majesty’s death. The Queen’s sense of duty and steadfast loyalty is one that resonates greatly with places of education. I know that countless teachers and students have found her to be a source of inspiration as they recognise her commitment and unwavering determination to serve others.
“This is a shock to our community, the country, and the world. It represents the end of an era which has seen 15 Prime Ministers and reaches beyond the living memory of many within our community. The Queen has been a personal source of inspiration to me, and I have no doubt that her achievements will be taught for centuries to come.
“I welcome all students and staff to dress in a way that respectfully recognises The Queen’s passing in the coming days.
“Our thoughts are very much with The Queen’s family and all of those who were moved by her kindness and strength.”
