Accelerate your impact in the classroom with a Level 3 certificate that recognises your expertise, strengthens practice, and fits around work, building confidence and progression to higher qualifications within a supportive community focused on teaching and learning.
Aligned to National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, this programme is designed for teaching assistants and learning support assistants who want formal recognition and practical development that directly enhances day‑to‑day practice. Taught on Wednesday mornings from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm over 32 weeks, it complements your role so you can apply new approaches immediately while continuing to support learners across your setting.
You will refine the skills that make a measurable difference to pupil progress and classroom climate. These include designing engaging training and development sessions, preparing high‑quality learning resources, creating environments that nurture participation, facilitating individual learning, and evaluating and developing your own professional practice. The certificate recognises the additional value you bring to teaching teams and helps you evidence that impact with confidence.
Assessment is authentic and workplace‑centred, with a portfolio that brings together written tasks, testimonies, professional discussions, targeted questioning, and three tutor observations in your setting. On completion, you have a clear progression route to the Foundation Degree in Learning Support and then to the BA Hons Education Learning Support, strengthening your pathway towards advanced roles in education.
