Overview

About the Course

Begin your journey into teaching with a qualification that builds confidence, practical skills, and a strong foundation for inspiring others, opening doors to rewarding opportunities in education, training, and lifelong learning across diverse sectors.

The LEVEL 3 AWARD IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING (FORMERLY PTLLS) is an introductory teaching qualification designed for those considering a career in teaching or already working in the sector who require an initial credential. The course develops both knowledge and practical skills for teaching learners aged 16 and above, supporting personal growth and professional engagement.

Learners benefit from a curriculum that covers essential topics such as roles and responsibilities in education, inclusive teaching and learning approaches, and assessment methods. Assessment is continuous and varied, including written assignments, a 30-minute micro-teach session, self-evaluations, and peer assessments, all culminating in a portfolio of evidence.

This nationally recognised Level 3 qualification provides a stepping stone to further study, such as the Professional Certificate in Education (PCE) or Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Graduates are well-prepared for teaching roles in public and private sector organisations, further education, and adult and community education, making this award an ideal starting point for a fulfilling teaching career.
