HND IN HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONS SUPPORT FOR ENGLAND

Overview

About the Course

The HND in Healthcare Professions’ Support for England provides a clear progression route into frontline health and social care roles. The programme blends academic study with practical learning so you develop the knowledge, confidence and professional behaviours expected in modern care environments.

You will explore how care is delivered across different parts of the sector, why ethics and policy shape everyday practice, and how evidence and research support effective decision making. Alongside this, you will continue to build core clinical support skills through supervised work‑based experience, allowing you to apply theory, practise safe care, and understand the realities of working with individuals, families and multidisciplinary teams.

Built around national occupational standards set by employers, the curriculum reflects current service pressures, patient needs and workforce expectations. You will work with case studies, real‑world scenarios and reflective activities that strengthen your professional judgment, communication and problem‑solving skills. By the end of the course, you will have a strong grounding in health and social care practice, a portfolio of workplace learning, and a qualification that supports direct employment or further professional study.
