The SPORT SCIENCE AND PERFORMANCE THERAPY BSC (HONS) DEGREE is awarded by the University of Surrey and taught in modern facilities at Farnborough. The course explores the physiological, biomechanical, and psychological influences on human performance, focusing on preparation, rehabilitation, and participation in sport and exercise. You might be currently studying a Level 3, A Level or Access to Higher Education course or be returning to education after a break or wish to transfer from another higher education institution. It may also be possible for you to join this course in its second or third year following relevant qualifications and/or experience in the workplace.
Within Level 4 of this degree will introduce you to practical skills, such as physical trainign techniques, sports massage, and functional movement, while focusing on the theory behind human anatomy and physiology. In Level 5 you will explore diagnostics and injury management, advanced sports massage techniques and training methods. At level 6 the modules are designed to allow students to extend their knowledge and the skills required in industry with more independent study allowing freedom to investigate a chosen specific role. This allows learners to demonstrate or identify means of further developing skills which are key to securing employment.
