What modules are covered?

Research & Engagement

This module prepares you for your Major Production by exploring current thinking in your field, addressing contemporary issues, and engaging with theory. You will review, develop, and evaluate research methods, applying them to your own creative discipline. The module culminates in a formal presentation reflecting on your research-informed practical work.

Industrial Response

The Industrial Response module facilitates your engagement with industry, enhancing your professional skills and entrepreneurial mindset. It involves commissioned work, enterprise development, and understanding sustainable business models. You will interact with industry professionals through briefs, competitions, and guest speaker sessions, gaining insights into industry practice.

Explorative Practice

In the Explorative Practice module, you will enhance your creative process and independent learning skills for the Major Production. You will respond to commercial briefs, develop your visual voice, and expand your creative output through various projects. The module also allows you to experiment with advanced technical practices and visual style, fostering reflection and preparation for the Major Production.

Major Production: Conception

The Major Production: Conception module enables you to plan your final Major Production. Informed by previous modules, you will oversee pre-production and propose a creative outcome supported by research and prototypes. You will develop a comprehensive production proposal that showcases your ideas and methodology, backed by rigorous academic research in your field. The proposal and prototype footage will undergo empirical research and presentation for approval by the tutor and lecturers.

Major Production Realisation

The Major Production Realisation module allows you to oversee, manufacture, and present your final body of work. It showcases your advanced professional skills, empirical research, and creative independence. You will demonstrate knowledge of contemporary practice, contextual influences, and narrative impact. The module culminates in a pathway-specific presentation showcasing your work and its cultural significance.
