The aim of this course is to develop thoughtful, highly skilled and ambitious fashion and textile creatives who understand the business attributes required to become successful and forward-thinking designers and makers.
You will gain an in-depth understanding of how the fashion and textile industry operates, explore sustainable and ethical production processes and develop collaborative skills through team working projects.
Studying at Farnborough will enable you to explore and refine a wide range of fashion and textile related skills. Tutors will encourage you to develop your own areas of interest and style whilst considering the environmental impact of your creative work.
You will be able to produce final outcomes focussed on fashion design, textile design, textile art or a combination of these disciplines and through the business study modules gain an understanding of the commercial factors that impact these creative industries. Setting up your own label or fashion/textile business will be explored as well as developing the professional skills required to obtain employment in the industry.

On this programme students will be given opportunities to develop patterncutting and garment construction techniques, printed, embroidered and constructed textile processes along with gaining an understanding of visual recording, computer aided design, sustainable and ethical creative processes, business and marketing practices. During the second year of the course you will have the opportunity to focus your studies into your area of interest as well as undertaking collaborative work and completing a major personal project.
