GRADUATION FAQS

When will I receive my certificate?

Given that the ceremony will now be in January, in October you will have the option to collect your certificate from College, or to have it posted to you. The Academic Registrar will contact you directly to confirm your preference.

I have already purchased my tickets and ordered my gown/photography, do I need to do anything now the date has changed?

If you plan to attend the January ceremony and do not need to make changes to your ticket, gowning, or photography booking, no action is required on your part. Your existing tickets will remain valid for the January ceremony, and your gown hire and/or photography bookings will be automatically rescheduled to the new date.

I need to amend my ticket booking, what should I do?

If you need a refund on part of your ticket booking, for example one of your guests can no longer attend, please email graduation@farn-ct.ac.uk before Friday 3 November and we will arrange this for you.

I have already purchased my tickets and ordered my gown/photography, but I can’t attend the new date, what should I do?

If, regrettably, you cannot attend the rescheduled date and require a refund for your tickets (ceremony and/or coach tickets), please send an email to graduation@farn-ct.ac.uk before Friday 3 November and we will refund your tickets in full.

If you need to cancel your gowning/photography booking, please log into your Ede & Ravenscroft ‘Existing Customer’ account at the following link to request a refund, which the company will process for you: https://www2.edeandravenscroft.com/graduation/

I have not yet purchased Graduation tickets or ordered any gowning/photography, but I would like to attend in January, what should I do?

Tickets are on sale and available to purchase from the e-store:

Farnborough College of Technology Online Store (farn-ct.ac.uk).

Graduands must purchase a ticket for themselves and can purchase up to two guest tickets. Tickets are £25 each.  Ticket sales will close on Monday 20 November.

If there are any spare guest tickets once initial sales have closed on the 20 November, these will be released for purchase on a first come first served basis.  We will communicate this to you if this is the case.

Tickets for children under four years old are free of charge but will need to be seated on their parent/guardian’s lap. Children cannot sit with Graduands; they must sit with the guests and be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please be aware that the ceremony can last up to 2 hours.

Gown and photography bookings can be made through Ede & Ravenscroft:  https://www2.edeandravenscroft.com/graduation/

Gowning and photography booking will close on the 11 December 2023. You will not be able to graduate without the correct academic dress.

If you have any technical difficulties, or issues, please contact:   https://www2.edeandravenscroft.com/gs-contact-form/

How do I book Coach tickets?

Coach tickets for Graduands and guests can be purchased from the e-store for £10 for a return ticket. Coaches will leave from Westminster car park at 11.45am. The return coach will leave from Guildford Cathedral at 3.20pm.

Someone in my party has an Access Requirement, what should I do?

Please let the Graduation team know when you purchase your tickets if yourself or a guest has access requirements on the day, this includes if you need a Disabled parking space.

Where and when do I collect my gown from on the day of Graduation?

Gowning will take place in the College Theatre, and photography will be in the College Emerging Technologies Centre (ETC), both from 9am on the day of Graduation.  Please see below for your designated time slot. This will help us to manage numbers of students on the day.  Please use the student car park.

What should I wear to Graduation?

As it’s a special occasion, most people attend smartly dressed. From a practical point of view, it is easier to wear a shirt or blouse so that your hood can be fastened on a button, otherwise please bear in mind the hood will need to be secured with safety pins to your clothing.

Can I park at the Cathedral?

Parking is very limited at the Cathedral, so please car share where possible. Overflow parking will be available next door at the University pay-and-display car park, but please allow extra time as it is a short walk up the hill to the Cathedral, or through the middle of the campus. View information on parking at the University of Surrey here

I have bought a coach ticket, where do I go?

Coaches will leave from the Westminster car park at 11.45am. The return coach will leave from Guildford Cathedral at 3.20. Please arrive 10 minutes early, the coach will leave on time as it is unable to wait if you are late.

I have a question that is not answered above, what should I do?

If you need to contact the Graduation Team, please email graduation@farn-ct.ac.uk.
